The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency company, Limited,- report Hamilton on mursday the usual number of fat and store cattle came forward, but fat sheep were short in supply. i2 . the beef was Passed-ln at auction, but all sold afterwards. Fat cows made from £5 2s to £5 10s; heifers, £4 15s to £5 10a; yearling steers, £2 1V^ £2 *M ' 15-months-old heifers, £1 19s to 4,2 10s; two-year-old heifers, £3 5s to £3 12s; s*°™ cows, £2 to £2 19s; dairy cows, £4 15s to £5 17a 6d; springing heifers, £5 to £7 17« 6d; yearling bulls, £3 10« to £4; fat wethers, shorn, 1M to 17s 3d; woolly wethers, 17s 6d to 19s; shorn ewes, 13s; weaner pigs, 9s 6d to lis 6d.

Crane, and C 0.,. report:— , Despite the bad weather that prevailed, we had a full yarding of beef and store cattle at the Kamo Yards on the 2nd mat., 1073 head being penned. Of this number 154 were steer beef of good quality, the bulk having come from the Mangakahia and Puma districts. There was a representative attendance of buyers, and competition wad brisk throughout, only a couple of lota failing to change hands under the hammer. Beef: There were no heavy-weights offered, but the quality was good, and sold at from 18a 6d to 21« per 1001b for steers, and from 15a to 18s for cows. We quote : Steers, £6 5a to £8 5s ; cows, £4 to £5 12s 6d. : Dairy stock were easier, except for good heifers and young cows close to profit, which elicited keen competition. Wellgrown, likely-looking heifers, close up, brought from £4 to £6 ss; others, £2 15s to £3 10s; good young cows, £3 15s to £6; others, £1 10a to £3. Stores: Fresh-conditioned 4-year steers made from £4 15s to £5 10b; 3-year eteera, £4 to £4 123 6d; 2-year steers, £3 to £.1 10a; 12 to 18months steers, £2 to £2 15s; strong weaners (steers), £1 to £1 10s; calves, 10s to 16s; fresh young empty cows, £2 15e to £3 10s; young cows, backward in condition, £2 to £2 "10s; others, £1 10s to £2 1* to 2-year-old heifers, £2 to £2 10s; yearling heifers, £1 5s to £1 15s; wcaners (heifers), 15s to £1. , • t At Whangarei Yards, on the 3rd inst., we had a full yarding of good quality cattle, and have to record a very satisfactory sale. • Practically the whole offering changed hands, at prices on a par with those obtaining at Kamo. At Messrs. F. and W. Wakelin'a Kamo cattle sale, nearly everything changed hands. About 70 head of'prime beef were yarded, and all sold with one exception, at 20s per 1001b, steers and cows alike. £7 15s was reached for a pen of well-done four-year-old steers, and £6 for cows, Four-year steers, in fresh condition, made £6; three-rear ditto. £5 10s: others. £4 10s to £5; ZJ-voa'r steers, £3 15s to £4 ss; two-year ditto, £3 to £3 10s; vearlings, 35s to 45a; store coys sold up to £3. 'Bulls were yarded in great numbers, and all sold. Young bulls made £8, and aged £&. At Karamea we held a successful sale, prices ruling about the same as those obtained at Kamo. Fifteen young pigs were entered, and sold tat from-12s to 13s 6d each.
