NAVAL ARMOUR.
IMPORTANT TESTS IN FRANCE. By Telegraph.—Fress Association. Copyright. Paris, November 2. Experiments upon the disabled war-
ship Jena showed that the guns beat armour in every instance, and proved that.no vessels •/are sufficiently protected against the latest types of projectiles.
The results also proved that it is essential that the whole of a vessel be uniformly protected.
French vessels are considered better protected than those of other nations. The Dantori, the latest type, would float though badly damaged, while the Dreadnought or the German Nassau would . sink like the Russian warships at Tsushima, if hit on the waterline.
