The disbandment of the Hikurangi Rifle Volunteers is gazetted.

Mr. G.. Lynch was unanimously elected to a lieutenancy in the' No. 3 Company G.A.V. last Wednesday evening.

The promotion of Lieutenant Wm. L. H. Burgess to be captain of " A" Battery N.Z. Field Artillery has been gazetted.

The appointment, of F. H. R. Jackson to be lieutenant ii. No. 3 Company Auckland Division G.A.V. has been approved.

The services of the Ponsonby Rifle Cadet Volunteers, with headquarters ai Auckland; have been accepted, according to Gazette notice..

Lieutenant Griffiths, No. 3 -Company Native Rifles, .is still laid up with his back, which he wrenched badly, while at work the week before last.

Lieutenant-Colonel G. C. B. Wolfe, officer commanding Auckland military district, returned from' a. visit to the "East Coast and goldfields district on Monday.

According to Gazette notice the resignation has been accepted of LieutenantColonel E. W. Porritt, Second Battalion Auckland (Hauraki) Infantry-Volunteers.
