The annual meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club was held at the club's office, Durham-street East, yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance, and Mr. John Rowe (president) was in the chair. The secretary Mr. 0. F. Mark) presented the committee's animal report, which referred to the past season as the most successful experienced by the club, both financially nnd from the viewpoint, of sport. This was especially gratifying in view of the fact that during the year two radical changes had been effected in the, programme, namely, the reduction of the number of "'pony races to ono on each day, and the introduction of a race for harness horses only on each day's programme. The committee was thoroughly satisfled with the result. It was intended to continue the practice recently initiated of offering substantial purses for track records as an encouragement; to the highest, class of horse. The balance-sheet showed the gross profit, for the year to be £ICOB 9s 9d, while the amount given away in stakes was £5610. The stakes were a substantial increase upon those of the previous year. The report and balance-sheet were unanimously adopted. On the motion of the chairman a vote, of sympathy was passed with the relates of the late Mr. William Adams, who was referred to as one of the oldest and most valued members, and practically the founder of the club. It was decided to introduce a three-mile i;'ce at each meeting of the club, also to continue the race for harness horses only, and to oiler purses for track records. The election of officers resulted in the return of all the old members of the. committee, namely, Messrs. John Rowe, Isaac Hill, Charles Bailey, Thomas Buxton, J. MrConnochie, and John Morrison. Mr. E. F. West bury was substituted as a steward for the late Mr. W. Adams. The retiring stewards were re-elected, as follows: — Messrs. J. U. Rutherford, Ij. Cooke, J. McColl, R. P. Kinloch, T. Crawford, J. T. Gray, (J. Foster, and J. O'Dowd. On the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr. I. Hill, a vote of thanks was passed to the press. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
