Victoria, which arrived from Sydney last night, sighted the barque Aldebaran. bound from Newcastle to Auckland, on September 2 in latituue 34 degrees 9 minutes south and longitude 153 degrees u4 minutes east. She was steering east and wished to be reported " All well." THE SYDNEY BOAT. The s.s. Victoria, Captain W. Foulis, arrived from Svdnev ah 8 p.m. yesterday, and, being granted pratique, berthed at Queer-street W hart. The master reports that the Victoria sailed from Sydney at 1.45 p.m. on the Ist inst., passed Cape Maria Van Ciemen at 3.30 a.m. yesterday, ami arrived a,= -bove. She experienced light variable winds and fine weather until Saturday, thence strong easterly winds, high seas, and very thick weather until reining port. The Victoria sails for Dunedin, via ports, to-morrow afternoon. "WELLINGTON TO LYTTELTON. . It is now definitely announced that the Mararoa will re-enter the Wellington-Lytte ton terry service this month. She leaves for Lytteltoo on September 21, and will be docked for cleaning and painting. On September 25 she takes up the permanent running, and the Maori will withdraw for overhaul. When the Maori is ready to take up her running again the "ateena will ■wittidraw, and may be placed in the Vi ellmgton-Fic-ton-Nelson service again. WIMMERA FROM THE SOUTH. Yesterday at 8.15 a.m. the Huddart-Parker steamer Wimmera, Captain William Waller, arrived from the South and berthed at Quay-street Jetty No. 2. She left Dunedin on the 31sfc lilt, and'called at the usual way ports, leaving Gisborne for Auckland at 11 cm. on Saturday and arriving as above. Light northerly winds and smooth ?»as were experienced till rounding the East Cape at 4 p.m. on Saturday, thence strong north-east, winds and high seas and thick squally weather till reaching port. She sails for Sydney at 5.30 p.m. to-day. ;
