By Telegraph.—Press Association.— PATE OP THE SEESTERN. . (Received August 25, 1.6 a.m.) Brisbane, August 24. The warship Condor has returned, after an extended and unsuccessful search for the Seestern. The captain is of the opinion that the ■ Seestern has turned turtle, and that all hands have been drowned. THE MEAGHER CASE. (Received August 24, 9.10 p.m.) ' Sydney, August 24. Application was made to-day, on behalf of the Law Institute, for leave to appeal to the High Court against the decision of the Full Court in reinstating R. D. Meagher on the roll of solicitors. The grounds of the application, which was granted, were the opinion expressed by the Acting-Chief Justice, when the case was before the Full Court, that there was matter for grave suspicion against Meagher in connection with certain land transactions, also Mr. Justice Pring's dissenting opinion, and that the Court had not taken Meagher's original offence into consideration, as it should have done.

Melbourne, August 24. The total value of Victorian primary products in 1908 was £24,608,716, against / £26,061,733 in the previous year. THE McMYLER HOIST. Sydney, August 24. Complaints against the McMyler hoist used at Newcastle for coal loading have been investigated by a Royal Commission, with thfi result that the hoist has been found to,have seriously damaged the soft coal and depreciated its value.
