The Union Company's cargo steamer Kotukn leaves Greyniouth this morning for Onehunga, via We.stport. '■■■-.'''■■'' , . _ The Northern Company s steamer Clansman was floated into the Auckland Dock yesterday for cleaning, painting ami general overhaul.. The collier Kaitangata left for Westport yesterd;iv to load coal for Auckland. The is. Wimmera took her departure for East Coast and Southern ports at 3.15 p.m. yesterday. The steamer Glenelg sailed for Whangarei yesterday to load coal for this port. The plans of a new steamer, to carry 1000 passengers, for Lake Wakatipu were submitted to the Minister for Marine while on a visit to the Otago Foundry last week (says an exchange). The new vessel will be a paddle-wheel boat, which will be able to run from Kingston to' Queenstown jn an hour and a-half. ' The steamer Glendevon, due nt Auckland about the end of the month with cargo from New York, will proceed from New Zealand to Newcastle and will there load coal for Java. Mr. S. Davis, late purser of the Wanaka, has lieen transferred to the Arahura in place of Mr. W. Menzies. '.■..■•■• -: THE ENCOUNTER. 11.M.5. Encounter is expected to arrive at Wellington from Nelson, to-day. She will remain at Wellington till Saturday and will then sail -for Auckland. From this port the Encounter will leave for Australia about September 15. NAVUA. LEAVES -WESTPORT. The Union Company's steamer Navua left Westport for Auckland at 2 a.m. yesterday and will be due here on Friday morning next. * She lias 500 tons of coal for Auckland and 500 tons for Fiji. ■■" THE CALCUTTA TRADERS. The steamers Cmta and Aparima are expected to reach Auckland from Calcutta at an early date, the former about September 1 and the latte ■ about September 3. « Both vessels are cfcming to the agency, of the Union Steam Ship Company. THE TARAWERA. . ' To-morrow morning the Union Company's steamer Tarawera will be due at Auckland from Southern and East Coast ports. On Saturday she will, return to Dunedin, via ports. DARTFORD LEFT BUNBURY. Cable advice has been received that the Union. Company's training-ship ' Dartford sailed from Bun-bury (West Australia) on the ISth inst. for Wellington and Lyttelton.
