SEQUEL TO THE BUDGET.

SALE OF LORD ONSLOW'S SURREY ESTATE. The Earl of Onslow has lost no time in giving effect to his decision, stated at his rent audit dinner at Guildford, to offer for sale by public auction a large part of his Clandon estates in the neighbourhood of Guildford, Woking, and Ripley. The preliminary announcements have now been issued, and the detailed particulars are in course of preparation. His lordship has decided to dispose of 1740 acres of land in lots varying from half an acre to 336 acres. The property comprises pleasure farms, large and small agricultural holdings, building sites, accommodation lands, cottages, and woodlands. The land is situated in a number of different parishes, between Byflect and Guildford, including both these places, in addition to Woking, Stoke, Worplesdon, Artington, and Ripley. Included in the sale will be several wellknown farms on the outskirts of Guildford, among them being Woking Park, Park Barn, Paper Court, Heath Barns, Old House, Highlands, Winterhill, Stoke Park, and the Manor Farms. A great deal of this land, at present devoted to agriculture, is practically ripe for building. The sale was to take place at the Mart, Tokenhouse Yard, on Tuesday, July 27, Messrs. Thurgood and Martin being the auctioneers.
