London, August 20. Mrs. Despard, Mrs. Cobden-Sander-son, and four other members of the Women's Freedom League, were arrested yesterday in connection with an attempt to intercept Mr. Asquith while on his way from his official residence to attend a meeting of the Committee of Imperial Defence.
