MEETINGS.
A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A jiketixg of the. executive committee of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held yesterday afternoon, the president (Mr. I. Gray) being in the chair. Messrs. E. Hall (secretary) and Mr. J. G. Rutherford presented a report on the recent conference of agricultural and pastoral associations held at Wellington. It was slated that the conference was one of the most successful yet held. The two delegates were thanked for their services. The other business transacted is reported elsewhere. ODDFELLOWS' LODGE. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Aroatea Lodge, No. 69, 1.0.0. F. of New Zealand, was hold at the lodge room, Birkenhead, on Thursday. The Noble Grand (Bro. A. J. McLean) presided over a large attendance of members. One candidate- was initiated. The Degree Master (Bro. M. Hooper), the D.D.G.M. (Bro. F. T. Harding), and Past Grand Bro. Ferguson attended for the purpose of conferring degrees. Several members availed themselves of the opportunity. The D.D.G.M. addressed a few words to the assembled members, congratulating them on the progress the lodge was making, and impressing upon them the importance of receiving their degrees to enable them to take office in the lodge. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the visiting officers.
