OLD MAN'S MISFORTUNE.
SPIKED ON A RAILING. EuANtJEt Tbexwith, a clothes cleaner, aged 74 years, and living with his wife in Kingstreet, Dunedin, met with a horrible misadventure. A couple of cricketers, coming from training in the Agricultural Hall, found him kneeling against' the railing protecting K. Wilson and Co.'s windows in Jetty-street, with a sharp spike protruding from the bridge of his nose. On examination they found to their dismay that : tho spike had entered under tho jaw and passed through tho roof of the mouth, to find ifca outlet on the nose, His wife : stated on being informed of the accident that he had beou drinking lately. -./ -
