There was a large attendance and competition was keen, especially for the cattle, which were principally half-bred Jerseys. Cows in milk realised from £5 5a to £8 ss; " half-bred Jersey heifers close to profit. £7 to £8 12s 6d; 18-month to two-year-old heifers, £4 to £6 ss; yearlings, £3 2s 6d to £3 17s 6d; heifer calves, to £2 2s 6d; four-year-old Jersey bull, £8 10s; yearling, £5: seven-month bull, £6; medium brown marc, aged, £27 os; chestnut hack, £11: light two-year-old colt, £7 10s; foals, £1 2s 6d to £3 ss; implements and sundries brought their values. The Pofceno Yards on .Monday were comfortably filled with cattle. There was 'a fair inquiry for all classes. Young and fat calves met with strong competition throughout, bringing from 2s to 48s; 98 sold. There was a fair muster of fat cattle of very nice quality, more heavy weights being penned than usual". Prices were steady right through, ox beef selling to 22« and cow to 20s per 1001b. Steers ranged in price front £5 lCs to £13; cows, £4 to £8 ss; 340 sold. Two trucks from Mr. Ed. Allen, of Cambridge, averaged £11 15s; two trucks from .Messrs. McKinnon Brothers, of Ohincwai, averaged £10 17s lOd; arid two trucks from Mr. Lincoln, of Surrey Farm, averaged £11 Is Bd. Mr. Reed's, of Waerervra, brought £10 each. Two thousand six hundred and fiftyfive fat sheep were yarded; consequently prices weie easier. Best wethers brought from 17s 6d' to 21s, others to 16s 6d; extra heavy ewes 17s to 19s 9d, others to 16s; hoggets, 10s to 14*. The advertised ewes in lamb brought from 12s 9d to 16s 6d; 590 sold. We. yarded 12 of this season's lambs, which brought' from lis to 17s each. Pigs, penned in moderate numbers, were in strong demand, all classes being freely competed for. Small sold from 89 to 12s 6d; slips, to 189; porkers, to 355; baconers, to 50s; 70 sold. '
