EX-SHAH'S ESTATES.
MORTGAGE HELD BY RUSSIA. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—
Teheran, August 18. The ex-Shah's departure from Persia has been postponed owing to the discovery that his private estates in the Azerbaigan province are largely hypothecated to the Russian Bank for debts contracted when he was Crown Prince.
The Nationalists are anxious to avoid the control of the estates passing to Russian agents, and suggest an increase in the Shah's pension if control is ceded to the Persian Government, which is willing to liquidate the arrears.
