WATERSIDE WORKERS' WANTS

Wellington, Wednesday. The following resolutions were passed at the Waterside Workers' Conference: — That steps be taken, to secure that the power of discharging men be limited to the . foreman in charge of a job; that employers be asked to agree to a standard of adequate sleeping accommodation to be provided for men on ' out-port work; that, steps be taken to check men in holds making slings in excess of the weights provided under awards : that a claim be made for equal overtime rates of pay for all men (engaged in out-port work.
