YON VELTHEIM'S SENTENCE
: NO INTERFERENCE. By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright. .(Received August 18, 11 p.m.) - London, August 18. In the House of Commons to-day Mr. Herbert Gladstone (Home Secretary), in reply to Mf. J. Cathcart Wason (Liberal member for Orkney and Shetland, and formerly a member of the New Zealand House of Representatives), said he was unable to find any grounds for . interference with a sentence of 20 years' penal servitude passed on . Franz von Veltheim, in February of last year, for attempts to blackmail Mr. S. B. Joel.
