FISH HATCHERY.

Christchurch, Wednesday. The Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has decided to vote £20 towards the maintenance of the Portobello ■ • marine fish hatchery, the : Government having. declined to agree to the suggestions of,.the Hatchery Board regarding the future maintenance of the Halsberry. The Board wanted a grant of £500, but the Government was only agreeable to continue its grant of £250.
