WRESTLING.
LIGHT-WEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. [BY TELEGRAPH. — ASSOCIATION.]
Stkatfobd, Friday.
A wrestling match took place last evening between Lewis S. Robertson (late of Scotland) and W. T. Col lodge (of Auckland), for the light-weight championship of New Zealand and a stake of £20 a-side. The contest resulted in favour of Robertson after a most even and exciting contest. Conditions were catch-as-catch-ean, first two pin falls. The first fall was gained by Colledge in 21m., the second by Robertson in s£m., and the third by Robertson after 45m. wrestling. Robertson scaled lOst 71b, and College- 10st. There was apparently little to choose throughout between the men in point of merit, and the contest was an exceptionally fine exhibition of wrestling.
