LACROSSE.

Tho Auckland team, which recently defeated Wellington, will this afternoon meet a team _of 13 chosen from the rest of the association's niters. This gam© will take place on tho Domain, and should prove interesting, as the representatives have not yet played together locally. The "reps." will play in blue and white, Auckland's colours, whilst tho " rest" will wear white. Tho following are tho teams: — Auckland: J. Waiters, Stowart, Browne, Carpenter, Nolan, Fisher, McCoy, A. Walton, Firth, Borradale, Graham, Pbilson, H. Walton (reserve). The "rest:" 0. Miller Phillips, McWilliams, E. Currie, Kummer, J. Miller, Dr. Eade, Wilson, Nieholls, Woollams, Ryder, T. and G. Waiters. Mr. Findlay will: act as referee.

The West End Club intend holding a euchre social and dance on Friday, August 13.

A.pleasant function -was held at tlio Sports Club's Rooms yesterday afternoon, when the Auckland lacrosse representatives met and presented their captain, Mr. H. C. McCoy, with a handsomely-framed photograph of the team. Mr. Nolan made the presentation, and in a brief speech referred to Mr. McCoy's many good .qualities. The recipient, after responding, was enthusiastically cheered.

Mr. H. C. Borradale, who is leaving shortly for Christchurch, will endeavour ,to establish lacrosse in the South Island, and it is hoped that through his efforts Christchurch may next season place a team in tho interprovincial field. Mr. Estcourt, who is at presont in Christchurch, should be able to render valuable assistance in this important matter.

Lacrosse is expected to make its appearance in Danncvirko and Wanganui shortly.
