OTAGO DREDGING RETURNS.

Dttnedtn, Friday. The following dredging returns are reported : —Mystery Flat, 470z Bdwt; Electric 11., 390z lOdwt; Koputui, 270z 13dwt; Masterton, 250z 14dwt; New Roxburgh Jubilee, 250z lldwt; Electric 1., 17oz 9dwt; South Waikaia, 15oz sdwt; Waikaia, 14oz 12dwt; Central Charlton, 13oz ldwt.

A runaway horse afforded some excitement at Port Chalmers on Tuesday morning. While a dray was being loaded at the coal siding the leader took fright and bolted up George-street, and took to the footpath, narrowly missing a spring cart, which was pulled out of its way in the nick of time. The terrified animal next collided with a verandah post, knocking it considerably out of the perpendicular. The animal thencrossed to the other side of the street, and taking the footpath again galloped furiously downhill, but in attempting to go on the road it stepped on the kerbing and collided with another verandah and fell heavily, snapping one of the posts. The horse .was thereupon secured as it fell in the gutter, its injuries consisting of a few slight cuts about the head. Boys' tweed caps, 3d each; men's tweed caps, 6d each; men's frame felt hats, 2s lid and 3s. lid; men's white tennis shirts, Is lid; men's neglige shirts, Is 6d each; men's : fashion shirts, 2s lid each; and all men's and boys' clothing at reduced prices. —At Grey and Ford's great sale of sales in the Old Beehive, Newton.
