AUCKLANDERS "TAKE THEIR CHANCE." [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] " • Christchurch, Friday. Exhibiting a picture of the Auckland Domain Cricket Ground to the large audience which had assembled in the Canterbury College Hall last evening to hear, him lecture on volcanoes and earthquakes, Dr. Marshall said: This is the crater of a volcano which has; been active in recent geological periods, yet Aucklanders play cricket upon it, and take all sorts of chances. They would probably be surprised and indignant if some afternoon they went skyward."
