The Scottish Draughts Association have sent a challenge to the English -Association for the paying of an international at Glasgow, commencing on Saturday, January 1, 1910, and. continuing on the following -Monday and Tuesday. . - At a meeting of the executive of the knglisn Draughts Association, held in Southport on April 17, it was proposed that play in a. tourney for the amateur draughts championship of Englan should be begun next November, the entrance fee to which should.be one shilling; that the play should be in sections or divisions at sundry centres; that the final stage should be^ contested at a named centre, and at the tastertide of 1910. The proposals were approved, by the executive, and it was agreed that they. should be submitted as recommendation for consideration at the next general meeting of the association.
