On the previous occasions on which these teams have met this season one match was drawn, and the other won by No. 1. THE NORTHERN UNION GAME. , RAPID DEVELOPMENTS. - CLUBS BEING FORMED. The .Northern; Union game has made, . startling, progress during' the week, the "development being .very rapid. On Monday a meeting was held, at which some 150 person* were- present, and a league was formed. Since then matters;have matured, a meeting being held at North Shore on Wednesday evening, at which there was an attendance of 40 persons, and as an outcome a strong club was formed, having for the Official a some .leading' residents. The club has two teams to put in the field at once, and has practically taken- the pick of the amateur players of the dis- ' trict club. A crowded public meeting was held in the Council Chambers at Devonport. oil Wednesday evening, when a club, to be affiliated with the Auckland Rugby League, and to be called the North Shore Albions, was formed for the purpose of promoting and playing the game of football under the Northern Union rules. Mr. W. Swinnertoa was in the chair, and about 40 playing members were enrolled. The officers for the present season were elected as follows :—President, Dr. Guinness vice-presi-dents (limited to five), Dr. Bennett, Captain Tilkington, Messrs. W. Swinnerton. A. Goldwater, and D. NEWTON CLUB FBRMING. It is stated there is a movement on. foot to form a club at Newton, and that a meeting has heeii called in that, district '-for next week. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League was held last evening, when a match between North Shore Alolons and City Clubs was sand* »d.
