[by telegraph.own CORRESPONDENT.] A fire took place at Mackaytown on Friday night, by which a house belong- : ing to Mr. A. Wight was totally destroyed. There was nobody living in the ■ house at the time. The house was insured, but the amount is not available. A successful " At Home" in connection with the No. 1 Ohinemuri Rifles was held on Friday night. Corporal White and Private J. Hubbard were M.C.'s, the bridge and euchre tournaments being .managed by Corporals E. Parry and W. Grant: The Bradford memorial belt was ;presented to the winner (Sergeant Moore) by Captain Hubbard, the card prizes being also presented to the following:— f' Bridge: Misses F. and O.
