EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
; [from OTO OWN correspondent.] : The 41st week of the North Island Egglaying 'Association's second competition was concluded at Cambridge on Friday. The number of eggs laid during the wt:k was 1285, the total laid since May :16 V being 57,382. The highest layings for the week are:—Light breeds: Mrs. J. Salt's white Leghorns, 29 J. H. Scott's, C. D. Beat-; son's, and T. B. Brookes' white Leghorns, 28; W. Runcimun's brown Leghorns/ 28. Heavy breeds: Dr. Roberts' white Orpingtons, 27; E. Veale's black Orpingtons, 26; J. Tudehope's white Orpingtons, 23; \ vSl; H. Scott's silver Wyandottes, 23; C. Hammond's white Plymouth Rocks,; 23. The leading pens to date are:—Light breeds: Harrison and Grafton's white Leghorns, 1154; aikato Independent's white Leghorns, 1099; C. D. Reatson's. white .Leghorns, 1099. Heavy breeds:. E. Veale's black Orpingtons, 1133; Miss 0. Roberts' silver . Wyandottes, 889; C. Hammond's white Plymouth Rocks, 889.
