TRAGEDY AT A HOSPITAL.
WOMAN JUMPS OVER A BALCONY. A young married ! woman. Bertha Vincer
(23), met her death in a shocking manner atMaitland Hospital, New South Wales, recently by jumping over the balcony. She was under treatment for an attack of typhoid fever and had Just been attended to by a nurse, who smoothed down tho bedclothes, when, before the patient could be restrained, she jumped over; the ' railing of' the balcony on to the asphalt beneath. She fell a distance of 20ft on to her head, the skull being fractured. She died an hour afterwards.
