ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER
ANONYMOUS LETTERS.

IxvERCAKGiiL, Wednesday. At the Supreme Court to-day, Maud Buchanan was charged with having attempted to murder D. :W. McKay, and with having unlawfully wounded Vera McKay. Mr. Solomon appeared for the defence.
It was alleged by the prosecution that accused fired six chambers.of a revolver at the McKays when leaving home in a motor car, and that strained relations were existent on account of anonymous letters.
,; The defence was that accused was in a distressed state of mind on account of the letters, and only fired- to create a scene in order to put :' stop to the annoyance.
The jury brought in a verdict of : % not guilty'. ,"\ " ..,,,.-.
