. /[i (No. 8.) LIQUOR MONOPOLY BOYCOTT. MEN AND WOMEN! This not unexpected from those filled with the idea they are wealthy "martyrs," j alter dominating this fair City for years, i and because you now refuse them a further lease of lull power to traffic IN THE' NATION'S CURSE, STRONG DRINK, which, irrespective of quality, is sold to consumers at the MONOPOLY'S OWN RETAIL CASH PRICE. Pardon us for asking those who are vendors of groceries, meat, milk, bread, clothing, etc., do you get YOUR OWN CASH PRICE year after year? and would you, if keen rivalry passed you out penniless, ever dream of asking the State for compensation As you know, in Commerce, without a Monopoly, it is the survival of the fittest. How much have you lost in bad debts by supplying the families and relations of the slaves to the Nation's Curse, Strong Drink? Yet, like true Britishers, and out of pure sympathy for these poor martyrs (through no fault often of their own), you have supplied them on long credit with the necessaries of life (while the Vendors of Strong Drink have been receiving your cash) to prevent extra suffering and the breaking up of homes, awhile clinging kindly to the belief that ultimately reformation would eventuate, restore homes, etc., to happiness, and discharge your accounts. NOW, IS IT NOT TIME, BOTH PROM A SOCIAL AND COMMERCIAL STANDPOINT, THAT EFFECT WAS GIVEN TOYOUR HARD WON .VICTORY POR REDUCTION? UNDER THESE VERY TRYING CIRCUMSTANCES, WHO SHOULD DO THE BOYCOTTING? But we know you are true Britishers, and would never stoop to such mean and contemptible , actions.
