TKJRD SALE ON TUESDAY.

INCREASED OFFERINGS

The third, wool sale of the Auckland season will he held at the Haymarket on Tuesday next, when a total of about 1750 bales will bo offered at auction. This total is against 918 bale* for the conesponding sale of last year, ami as against 57? bales for the February sale in 1907. As there were large increases at the November and January sales, as compared with previous seasons, it "ill he seen that the Auckland wool market is growing steadily. The order of sale is as follows: Alfred Btickland and Sons, New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Dalgety and Company, G. W. Binney and Sons, and Auckland Fanners' Union.

'Hie wool consists generally of back country crossbred and lambs' wool, and a good proportion ot the crossbred is of the sort known as log-stained and bush wools. There is practically no Southdown, Shropshire, or Homnev wool offering. The lambs' wool, locally grown, is in good quantity, comprising probably about five per cent, of the total catalogue, and most of it is well grown and in good condition. A good bench of buyers is expected, and to suit the convenience of several of them, the sale has been adjourned from nine a.m. to four p.m. The range of juices is scarcely possible of forecast, as the Febltiary sale is never a real criteiion of wool values, owing to the quantity of log-stain-ed wool included, hut rates are expected to be better generally by two points, than at the February sals of last year, when the top juice for fine crossbred was 9d, and for medium crossbred 7d.
