OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Wanganci, Thursday. A fire occuiTed this afternoon in a sevenroomed house in Glasgow-street, occupied by Charles Marsh and owned by Mr. Huckett. The lire was confined to the back portion, which was completely gutted. The furniture is insured in the Victoria Office for £100. but it is not known whether the house is insured. It is surmised that the fire was caused by a four-year-old child playing with matches. Christchurch, Thursday. The homestead at Glenroy station, near Glentunnel, a seven-roomed house, with dairy and storeroom, the property of Mr. Frank Hiatt, was burned down at midnight on Tuesday. Nothing was saved. The inmates, Mr. and Mrs. Hiatt and child, had a. narrow escape.
