NORTH AUCKLAND RAILWAY.
MR. McKENZIE'S TOUR. The change in itinerary of the Northern tour of the Minister for Public Works will be discussed this evening, on the arrival of the Minister. Mr. McKenzie will be met by Messrs. G. L. Peacocke and E. Harding, representing the Auckland and Northern Railway Leagues respectively, and the matter will be carefully considered. The Minister will leave for WeUsford by special train on Saturday morning, and during his Northern visit lie will inspect both the suggested routes of the North Auckland line. He will then submit his report to the Cabinet, which will finally accept his choice. On Monday Mr. McKenzie will open the completed section of the line at Wellsford, and will then set out on hie Northern tour, which will include visits to Paparoa, Tangiteroria, Maungakaramea, Dargaville, Kaihu, Taheke, Kohukohu. Mangonui, Kawakawa. Whangarei. and Waipu. He expects to reach Auckland again on the 24th inst. Mr. W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, telegraphed from Palmerston North yesterday expressing regret that he would be unable to accompany the Ministerial party on the tour North.
