C.ipiAiN' Collins arrived from the South by the Takapuia yesterday. Mr. D. D. Hyde, Government poultry export, went South yesterday by the west coast steamer. Among the visitors to the Dominion during the holiday season is Colonel Vernon, of the Commonwealth military forces. • The Hon. George Fowlds, Minister for Education and Public Health, returned to town from North Auckland by the s.s. Ngapuhi, yesterday morning. He will leave- this evening by the Main Trunk train for Wellington. Mr. Yeo, a veteran West Australian rifleman, was among the visitors at the Auckland rifle meeting yesterday. __ He is ihe father of Sergeant Yeo, of the Victoria Rifles, who was a successful competitor, and is on a holiday trip from the 11 Golden West." Sir Robert Stout. Chief Justice, will laavc on a visit to England, in March, accompanied bv Ladv Stout and his daughter. The plaices to" be visited have not. yet been definitely decided upon, but they will include London, where His Honor has two sens, and also Cambridge, where another won resides. Sir Robert will also visit his native town of Lerwick, in Shetland, which he loft in 1865.
