DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES.

MELMEItLY COLLEGIATE SCHOOL. THE annual distribution of prizes in connection with above Paniell school took pla.ee on Friday afternoon, the Rev. Canon MaeMurray presiding. Mrs. Hanna, in her annual report, referred to the work accomplished during the year, and expressed ber satisfaction with it, the girls having worked consistently and well. She also expressed her regret at having, for various reasons, to give up control, but felt satisfied that her successors would maintain'' the old traditions of Mclmerly. Canon Mac Murray, on behalf of the girls, presented Mrs. Hanna and Miss Metcalfe with tokens of their old pupils' esteem. The annual distribution of prizes to the. girls of tho above school took place yesterday. The Minister for Education presided, and the prizes generously provided by the ladies of Mount Albert were presented by Mrs. Oliver. In addition to the prizes every girl received a handsome Christmas gift. A short display of physical culture was given by the girls under the direction of their teschsr (Mrs. Heath). The distribution of prizes at .King Edward's College will take place to-night. The examination prizes will be presented by Mr. F. E. Banme, M.P., and the sports prizes , by Mrs. Baume The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) has signified his intention of being present.
