IN BOY'S CLOTHES.
A, MASQUERADING GIRL. [BT TELEGRAra. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton. Saturday.. A sixteen-year-old girl named Florence Francis Marks, of Waihi, pleaded guilty at the S.M. Court yesterday to having obtained three blouses from T. Martin by means of a false pretence. Accused also admitted having stolen a bicycle valued at £15, the property of J. E. Hammond, and a purse containing £7, the property of Lilian Aubin, Tauwharc. • -.".. Sergeant Hastie explained the girl's escapades, concluding by stating that she left for Auckland, and, after getting her hair cut, bought, a suit of clothes and other necessaries, and took a situation as a boy. ■ The girl's father said that his daughter had never previously given trouble. Her going out to service had evidently been tho cause of her downfall. • : ;- The Bench decided to admit the accused to probation and' order her to come up for sentence when called upon, on condition that she went to.tho Door of Hope for 12 months, and that restitution was made by her father. ■, , " . . v .
