" t : Wilbur Wright made a successful «:■ flight in his aeroplane of 6U miles in 114 minutes, at Lake Leman (Lake of Geneva), some of the distance . being traversed at a height of 400 ft. : . This flight establishes, a -record in aero- 7,. planing, Mr. Wright's previous best per- "' formance being achieved at Lake Leman, "' in September, when he covered 41 miles in lh. 31m. 255., both distance and time up to then being records. The machine on - that occasion rose over 100 ft, the perform-' ance gaining for him the Aero Club and other prizes, wtlrth altogether £800. •In ' April, 1908, M. Lazare ■ Weiller, well- : known manufacturer, signed a contract ,> with the Wright Brothers, according to'"' which he became, for £20,000, the proprie- .-'.,'' tor of their aeroplane, if before the end of 1908 their machine, with two persons on ' board, accomplished a flight of. 60 kilometres. The latest feat of the inventors -' has evidently fulfilled the conditions stipulated.
