BOXING.

BURNS-JOHNSON FIGHT. [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Saturday. A number of Wellington sports left by tho Warrimoo this afternoon to witness the Burns-Johnson fight in Sydney on Boxing Day. Most of them had cabled over for £5 seats a few days ago. In some instances £10 has been paid for the privilege of seeing the fray. Unusual interest is centred in the contest here on Tuesday night for tho featherweight professional championship of New Zealand between James Godfrey, of Auckland (present holder), and W. J. Elliott, who captured tho New Zealand and Australasian amateur featherweight championship in 1907, and again this year. Godfrey is favourite. Elliott will be giving away about eight pounds. Should Godfrey come out on top, he will probably try his luck in Australia before returning to England.
