TROUBLE ON THE DEVON.
I* the Police Court yesterday, before Meesre. W. Duncan, F. J. H. Ellisdon, sad W. Farrell, justices ox the peace, two firemen, named James and Patrick Gallagher, from the steamer Devon, were charged with being disorderly while drunk, on that chip. , ~ The captain ot the Devon said that in consequence of the disorderly behaviour of the men on Wednesday night be had had >o send' for the police. . Constable Rogers stated that when .he arrived on the scene, Patrick Callaghei threatened to "rip him open" with a razor which he was carrying.
The accused, who pleaded guilty to the tharges, were fined 10s, or, in default, 48 bouse' imprisonment.
MISCELLANEOUS.
Three first offenders lor drunkenness were lined 5s and costs.
Arthur Armstrong, whose chimney took fir© in Queen-street, necessitating the attendance of the fire brigade, was fined 5s sod costs. "•? Charles Fearcn was fined a similar amount for driving a vehicle round a corner at other than a "walking pace, while an information charging Alfred White with leaving a vehicle unattended was dismissed.
