Store cattle were slightly , better worth, owing no doubt ,to the. useful rains. '.Young and fat calves. :1n average supply, were required from 2« to £3 Bs, according „to; weight, and quality; 101 sold. The beef'pens were again filled with stock of nice quality. ' Bidding was steady . throughout and prices'inclined Ho bo firmer, ox beef selling to 225. per 1001b and cow to 20s Steers ranged 5n price from £6 to £10; cows, £4 to £7; 428 sold. There was, an extra large muster of mutton and lamb, every pen ,'nd yard being utilised. Mutton was lower all round "fully 2s per head. Lamb 'sold freely throughout. - Best shorn wethers - realised 15s 6d to 18s 9d; ewes. 8s 6d to 14s; woolly^ (mixed), 14* to 19s; 2623 sold. Lambs, 121 to 15s 9d; 776 sold; ewes, with lambs, 143 9d and 16s 9d. Pigs, in full supply, were a shade easier. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Limited, have received the : following cablegram ; from their London office under- date the 24th mat. :—Wool. The attendance lof buyers 1 -' is large and the competition is very animated. The selection of wools is fair Greasy „ merinos have advanced 7J per cent., : scoured merinos 5 per cent, to 74 per cent., greasy crossbreds :1C per cent;, to 15 per cent., and' scoured crossbrede 10 per' cant: to 15 per cent, compared with the closing rates of last aeries. - -
