WHANGAREI S.M. COURT.

Whangarki, Thursday. At the monthly sitting of the S.M. Court (Mr. R. W. Dyer, S.M., presiding) a great deal of time was taken up in dealing with a native quarrel. Both parties were bound over to keep the peace in, bonds of £50.
A foreigner, charged with drunkenness and with resisting, the police, was fined 10s on the first charge and £5 on t*ho latter.
Judgment by default was given for plaintiffs in the following undefended civil cases :—Jurakovich Brothers v. Joe Ponaho, £23 8e 6d, and costs £4; Geo. Halliday v. John Nicholi £1 2s 6d; Jas. Hoey v. J. Williams," £3 6s lOd and costs, to be paid in instalments of , 10s per week ; A'. Stokes v. F. Chee.*eman, £1 12s 6d and costs; F. Neary y. Thomae, . £2 10s and costs. In the case 'of -Ja'gger v. Burt, a claim for £4 3s 3d, judgment was given for £2 19s 3d, plaintiff being nonsuited for £1 4s, claimed for storage of goods.
