Mitchell,' Henderson, Mrs. Wilding, Misses itworth, Dansford, and Mrs. A. W. Head, with power to add to 1 their - number. On the motion of the Rev. -S. Griffiths a resolution was carried expressing regret at the proposed retirement of the Rev. T. Evershed on- account of ill-health, and appreciation of his service* 10 the 'society. A lecture on Palestine was given by ' , Mr. A Hunter. ■ ' 1 ', ELLERSLIE TOWN BOARD. A meeting of the Ellerslie Town Board' ' was held last night,' Mr:' G. Wilkinson" in the ■chair. There were also present: Messrs Peek, ; MeCallum,' Somerfield, and Smith. A letter was received from tho district railway engineer, stating that Gladstone-street bridge would be put in hand forthwith. The sanitary inspector was instructed to serve notices on three property owners to abate nuisances arising through bad surface drainage. The turncock was instructed to cut; off all water. * supplies ' where - water rates were' not • paid.' It was decided to hold a special meeting next Monday night, to deal with the sanitary inspector's report of the district. Accounts amounting to £22 were passed for payment.
