Dr. and Mrs. Kndlay, the Hon. H. Gilmer, and Captain Gat-home- Hardy returned to Wellington by tho Maori yesterday from the South. , Admiral Sir A. Moore is a passenger by the R.M.S. Himalaya, which arrived at re mantle (W.A.), from England yesterday, and is (states a Press Association cable) coming, on to New Zealand, r- ; : Sir Joseph Ward returned to Wellington last night (states a Press Association telegram). He will leave for the South today or to-morrow night, and does not expect to return to Wellington till Tuesday morning, Mr. Norman Roche, of Hamilton, who has passed his pharmaceutical examination (writes our Hamilton correspondent* is the youngest candidate who has iwssed tho examination in New Zealand. He will bo unable to receive his diploma for nearly three years. Mr. Jas. Lonergan, the young Auckland basso, who is about to proceed to .Australia to pursue his vocal studies, was farewcHcd by the Mariet Brothers Old Boy's Club on Tuesday night, at the club rooms. The Rev.-Brother George presented Mr. Lonergan with a wallet, suitable inscribed. Several toasts were honoured and harmony indulged in. ' .
