ADVERTISING NEW ZEALAND.

A LOST OPPORTUNITY.

[BY TELEGRAPH. own CORRESPONDENT.]

, Christchxjrch, Monday. Mr. J. G. Davis, a. well-known Christchurch resident, who has just returned from a trip to England, speaking to a press representative, was enthusiastic about the Frinco-British Exhibition, taken as a whole, but confessed to a feeling of intense disappointment as far as the New Zealand court was concerned. "We have lost the grandest chance to advertise New Zealand that we ever had," he said. "We have only a paltry little bit of a show, not much larger than the Ashburton court at the Christchui'ch Exhibition ' I went to the court. four times, but could get no information, and had to go a fifth time before I could see anybody. I asked for the literature which was supposed to be distributed tc visitors, and ; tho .man pointed to \ some shelves in the inquiry office. I expressed the opinion that the Canadian method should be followed, by displaying the literature openly on tables, and having someone there who could talk about, the country. Canada made the finest show, but, as far as advertising was concerned, Australia did better than either Canada or New Zealand, even though the exhibits were shown as from separate States, and not from the Commonwealth as a whole " .
