The Board of Trade have made representations to the Foreign Otllce, on the application,of Messrs. Andrew Weir and Co., of Glasgow, owners of the missing Glasgow tour-masted barque Falklandbank, and Messrs. R. Hughes, .Tones, mid Co., of Liverpool, the owners of the gravely overdue Liverpool ship Carnetld Llewelyn, for a, Government steamer to be sent to search for the crews of these two vessels in the vicinity of Cape Horn and the Islands of Tierra del Fuego. The Foreign Office have cabled to His Majesty's Minister at Buenos Ayres authorising him to make the necessary arrangements for sending a Government steamer to explore the whole length of the coast la the vicinity of Cape Horn anil the islands of Tierra del Fuego. The British Minister has also been requested to place the matter before the Chilian Government authorities, asking their cooperation in the search. These investigations have been ordered owing to the report that Indians found a boat in Good Success Bay (Tierra i del Fuego) containing two corpses and some nautical instruments, while the British steamer Devon reported having seen fires burning on the island, which, it is assumed, may have been lighted by the lastaway crews of missing vessels.
