The Australian ,loek<\v Club's Spring Mooting was continued to-day at Ranclwick in fine weather. In tho decision of fho Second Hurdle Race tho New Zealand-bred horse /Eolus scored another easy victory. Prior to tho race ./Eolus was purchased by Mr. W. Lyons for 200g>\ ' Mooltan followed up his victories in the Spring Stakes and Metropolitan Handicap by annexing tho Craven Plate, in which he scored an easy win from tho Victorianowned lolaire. There was little change till below the distance, where Mooltan shot up. and the son of Posltano disposing of his opponents came on and won easily by two lengths from lolaire, who beat Lord Xolan by a length for second position, a similar distance separating the last-named from Maranui. Napier, Wednesday. The Hawke's Bay Jockey .Club experienced the unusual misfortune of wet weather for the inauguration of their spring meeting to-day, and the attendance was considerably affected. The course was soft, but in good racing order. The totalisator hsndled £6399, as against £8748 on the corresponding day last year, and 16 bookmakers were licensed. The main feature of the racing was'the success of Auckland-owned horses. Elysian, Master Del aval, and Master Soult each won their engagements.
