LABOUR DAY CELEBRATIONS.
PROCESSION AND SPORTS. Labour Day jvill be. celebrated in Auckland this year by a procession to tho Domain, to be followed by a sports meeting. Numerous entries have already been received for the various procession events, and it is anticipated that -when entries finally close-at five p.m. to-morrow—the number will bo as great as in 1905, the last occasion on which a procession was held. The Labour Day procession of 1906 will bo remembered as probably the finest trades display ever witnessed in the city. The procession route will be from. Quaystreet, via Queen, Wellesley, Hobson, and Pitt Streets, Karangahapo Road, Symondsstreet, Khyber Pass and Grafton Roads, and thence to the Domain. An elaborate programme .of sports has been arranged, and very large entries have been received. A good day's outing is assured. An art union is also to be held in conjunction with the procession and sports. Prize-money totalling £210 has been allocated as follows Sports prizes, £100; procession, £50; art union, £50; . children's sports, £10.
