A BRAVE RESCUE.
[by telegraph.-—press association.] HoKiTtKA, Monday. A little boy named Clarence St. George had a narrow escape from drowning yesterday. He feir into the Hpkitika River, and was caught on a snag on the bottom. A young man named Wm. Wallace, learning of the accident, promptly jumped into the river, but had to dive three times before he could.get the boy free and up to the surface.* The lad was unconscious for some time after, but ultimately recovered. He undoubtedly owes his life to Wallace's brave action. -
