" Burns, Philp and Co.'s Island mail steamer Tambo, Captain Wetherall, arrived from Sydney on Monday morning, the, 7th inst., anchoring off town, and after discharging mails, passengers, and cargo, resumed her voyage" the Islands the same afternoon. Mrs. Mallet was a passenger by the steamer . from • here. ■'. • : The Melanesian Mission yacht Southern Cross, Captain Sinker, arrived from Auckland on the 7th" inst., arid sailed for the Islands at five . p.m. on the 9th,' taking as passengers Misses Wilson and Owen, the Revs. Stewart, Howard, ; Caine, Messrs. J. Palmer, Moir, Stephen, and 12 natives.
