The erection of a new and up-to-date Sunday-school for the Baptist Tabernacle will shortly be commenced. The plans provide separate large-sized rooms for each class, and rooms are also provided for the pastor, superintendent, secretary, and librarian. It is intended to instal electric lighting throughout the building, and it is possible that arrangements will be made for lighting the church with electricity at the same time. The estimated cost of the school is £3000, of which sum £2600 hae b*en subscribed or promised. At a meeting of the Bllerslie Town Board ratepayers on Tuesday night, called by the chairman,: {Mr. G. Wilkinson), it was resolved to request the Board to immediately take a poll to authorise the raising of a loan of £1300 for the acquirement of a recreation ground for the district.
