BULGARIA AND TURKEY.
ARBITRATION SUGGESTED. . By Telegraph.—Press. Association.— London, September 29. Germany and Austria-Hungary have protested against Bulgaria's occupation of the: Orient railway, arid have demanded its restoration to Turkey. The Bulgarian Government states that it is unable to withdraw, but reiterates its willingness to. safeguard '.'the company. It is understood that Turkey is willing to submit the railway question to the arbitration of The Hague tribunal. % ; . (Received October 1, 1 a.m.) ■ ■ . Sofia, September 30. It is semi-officially announced at Sofia that the question of independence has not occupied the Government's attention, and that the railway question did no arise from the Gaeshoff incident. The Government will endeavour to find a basis for, satisfying the claims of the owners of ; the line, who have on more than one occasion expressed: their readiness to sell their rights:
