INDUSTRIAL DISPUTE.
WICKERWORKERS' DEMANDS. An application lias been filed "by the Auckland Rattan and Wickorworkere' Union of Workers that their dispute bo referred to the Conciliation Board. Eight employers hare been cited. It is asked that the week's work shall consist of 47 hours, overtime to be paid for at the rate sA time and a-quarler for the first three hours, and time and a-half afterwards, with double pay for work on Sundays, A minimum wage of Is 3d per hour is demanded Apprentices to be bound for four years, to bo continued at the end of that term as improvers at £1 15s per week ; the proposition of apprentices to he limited to one to three journeymen. Nine holidays are asked for. Piecework to lie prohibited, provided it does not apply to boys engaged to do scroll-., plugging, etc. Clauses are also inserted with reference to tinder rate worker.--. preference tu unionists, and non-discrimina-lion against unionists. All the employers cited have places of business Within the city.
