THAMES DEEP LEVELS.

THE COMMITTEE'S RESOLUTIONS. •ATTITUDE OF THE WAIOTAHI. Having considered the resolutions recently cai'ricd by th© Thames Deep Levels Committee, the directors of the Waiotahi Gold Mining Company yesterday forwarded to the chairman of the committee the following communication— "The chairman <ii the company has today submitted to tho directors for their, consideration the following resolutions passed by your committee: — "1. That the scheme outlined by tho mine manager;?, subject to such modifications . as may subsequently be agreed upon, bo adopted. (The scheme in question provides for a crosscut being projected from the Queen of Beauty shaft northward, at tho 1000 ft level, for a distance of about 4000 ft, or «bout as far as the Kurauui ground.) "2. That the companies benefited contribute equally to the cose of the scheme. "3. That upon the low level development becoming available each company using tho same shall pay annually to a common fund 10 per cent, on ail gold won below 600 ft from tho surface for a period of 10 years, provided, however, that no company shall pay more than £10,000, such fund to be equally divided amongst the companies contributing to the deep levels scheme. ■ "4. That there be a Deep Levels Committee, representing the various contributing companies, which shall consist of the chairman or other representative of each of such companies; the committee to be charged with the dirties of carrying out the scheme in all respects, and the assessments agreed upon to be paid to such committee. "After careful consideration it was decided:— "1. That with reference to resolution. No. 1 it is understood that the route of the projected crosscut is subject to modification, and that the directors should require to approve the route finally chosen. "2. That with reference to resolutions Nos. 2 and 3 the directors consider that area should have been the basis of estimating the contribution of each company, but that the Waiotahi Company is willing to waive this, if the percentage to be paid into joint account by any company finding gold below the 600 ft level is 10 per cent* on the gold won, not on the profits, the total amount not to exceed £10,000 from any one company.

"3. That with reference to the last resolution (No. 4) the directors will insist that one of the conditions be that the whole of each company's contribution must be paid over to the central committee, prior to the work being undertaken, and that a subsidy of £ for £ be obtained from the Government. ■ "In addition to the above resolution* dealing with your proposals, it was decided that tlio Waiotahi Company will require that all the companies within the drainage area to tho northward of the present Big Pump shaft shall become parties to f the arrangement, and shall "contribute accordingly." •■■ .
